By accessing and using Allowable, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using this app.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent/Guardian Responsibility

Parents and guardians are solely responsible for:

• Supervising their children's use of the app
• Verifying that children are 10 years or older
• Monitoring all tasks, rewards, and transactions
• Setting appropriate allowance amounts and task rewards
• Ensuring children complete tasks safely

Allowable is a tool for family allowance management. Parents maintain full authority over all financial decisions.

👧 COPPA Compliance (Children Under 13)

For children under 13 years of age, we comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) requirements:

• Verifiable Parental Consent: By creating a child account and agreeing to these Terms, you provide verifiable parental consent as required by COPPA through email verification and explicit agreement to these Terms of Service
• Data Collection Consent: You consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your child's personal information (including name, email, task data, allowance information, and task proof photos) for the purpose of providing the Allowable service
• Parental Control: You maintain full control over your child's account and can review, modify, or delete your child's information at any time through the app settings
• Limited Data Use: Your child's information is only used to provide the Allowable service and is not used for behavioral advertising or shared with third parties for marketing purposes
• Consent Records: We maintain records of your consent with timestamps and terms versions for compliance purposes
• Right to Revoke: You can revoke this consent at any time by deleting your child's account through the app settings

By creating a child account, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this COPPA consent provision.

👤 User Accounts

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Ensuring all information provided is accurate and current

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

🚫 Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use Allowable to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload malicious code or viruses
• Harass, abuse, or harm another person
• Collect or store personal data of other users
• Use the app for any commercial purpose without authorization
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems

📸 User-Generated Content

When you upload photos or other content:

• You retain ownership of your content
• You grant us permission to store and display your content as necessary to provide the service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload the content
• You must not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or violates others' rights
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms

💳 Financial Transactions

Allowable facilitates virtual allowance tracking:

• The app tracks virtual allowance amounts only
• Parents are responsible for actual financial transfers to children
• We are not responsible for any disputes regarding payments
• Payment integrations (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, etc.) are processed by third parties
• Parents should verify all transactions before approving them

⚠️ Disclaimer of Warranties

Allowable is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind:

• We do not guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of any content
• We are not responsible for any decisions made based on app data
• Use of the app is at your own risk

⚖️ Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) to use the app
• We are not responsible for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Parents are solely responsible for managing family finances

🔄 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time:

• Changes will be effective immediately upon posting
• Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of modified terms
• Material changes will be communicated through the app or email
• You should review these terms periodically

🚪 Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account:

• Immediately, without prior notice, for violation of these terms
• For conduct that we believe is harmful to other users or us
• If required by law or regulation

You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the app.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
